How do I make an international Text Relay call?
International Text Relay calls work in the same way as a standard Text Relay calls.
To make an international call from the UK, simply dial the relevant prefix for a Text Relay call (18001 from a textphone, 18002 from a telephone, or 180015 for Text Relay Direct) and then the full number of the person you’re calling, including the international code (opens in a new window).
For example, to call a number in Sydney, Australia from a textphone, you would dial:
18001
2
xxx xxx
To make an international call to the UK, dial the international access code +44 151 494 1260 if you’re using a textphone or +44 151 494 2022 from a telephone.
It is not possible to make a Text Relay from outside the UK to a non-UK number.
Please note: relay assistants can only relay conversations in English.
